| I know this is the holiday season... Merry Christmas ev1
But,the thing i want to talk about is what happened to league games ?? That is(league) was what brought all fatcat together....It was fun was team vs other teams....
Sure we have some nice big payout games on the schedule now...I am cool with it...Some nice games....
But the freeroll league games...Why is it we don't play league anymore??
This is a team site and i haven't seen one team game, meaning one team vs another team game, in a very long time.....
I hope their isn't that much animosity that we can't humble ourselves and have some fun it's all here waiting for fatcat to come together have some team games maybe get league games going....
Just my thought's what do you fatcatter's think ????
Hope all fatcat has a Merry Christmas...

| with team league, i think it's down to numbers..... theres maybe around 80 members that play fatcat. maybe 60 that do regularly. but at peak times only around 30? a handful of teams with over 10 players. quite a few smaller teams that couldn't put a large enough team out at the same (league game) time. factor in timezone differences, various holiday times, and it's kind of hard to arrange play and conclude a league season.
on freeroll league..... this could be done with the right formula, but the last time it was run the most successful players were those that could play the most, anyone with less free time didn't stand a chance. IMO, accolades should be won down to personal skill, teamplay (where allowed) and a little luck, not by how many times you can sit & harvest chips.
i agree it would be nice to see a successful formula to both competitions that was fair and fun for all.

| Given the numbers that Roy has stated, it seems that the only way that leagues have a chance of happening is for the team member limit be reduced to 20 or less. Having read most of the posts regarding the team limits issue, this is not likely to happen in our lifetime, as the old-timers have not been receptive to the idea of cutting their rosters to expand the number of teams available for league play. This is a neutral observation... I'm not advocating either cutting or not cutting down team size limits. | |

| Team league has been tried to start up many many times by Mrs B, a few teams are receptive and some ( including the larger teams ) not...
It has been approved by mufasa to allow 2 ( or more??) smaller teams to merge for the purpose of league game play and they all split the winnings received to their respective teams..This is not a true merge as each team will be still as it is and outside of the league games would not teamplay with each other in freerolls, but once a week their players could join to play the league game and field a roster as 1 team. So the size of the team issue can be easily worked around if teams wanted to play but did not have enough players. Currently there are 4 teams large enough to field teams alone easily if they were willing to participate.
The time for league games is not a set time but set mutually by both teams for each and every game with a universal " default "day and time set in case of non agreement by both teams to any other time.. so having to field a roster at a certain set time is also not an issue.
As for freeroll league i have to agree certain players are retired or dont work and they can register and play every freeroll league game which gives them a huge advantage.... perhaps something like play as many as you want each week but you can only submit your best 2 finishes or something of the sort could level the playing field somewhat.
Rush is always open to playing in league games, or just a fun game between 2 teams if anyone is ever interested.... Contact myself, Mrs B or any Rushie you see and let us know.

Sadly the TLU has also gone the way of league...SB you have tried to get interest in it, Danny tried and I tried,,... Its a new fatcat with mega payouts so unlike the past leagues payouts are devalued and no longer a main way to accumulate team chips... so that incentive for league is gone...BUT the pride aspect in teams still thrives for most teams yet they show no interest in being in a competition to see who is best head to head,,,, NOT in just winning chips in freerolls, That was what made league work.. bragging rights till the next league that your team may not have won the most chips in the round BUT you bested each and every other team in a fun competition team vs team head to head...maybe I am wrong and that pride aspect in your team has vanished and just accumulating chips has replaced it.. and now with teams joining forces there is the added incentive of taking down the big teams , kind of like David and Goliath to add to the pride aspect payouts for tournies has went through the roof, hence the high team scores and personal scores.... making 1 million chips in a round used to be rare and only by the top players, now players who play infrequently can get 1 million and it has now become mundane and irrelevant.... but league should not be about chips solely its about team pride and comraderie, and some good competition

| Yep, seems the interest in league play has dwindled to a trickle. I guess in today's world it's"Wall Street OR the Hall Street World" here. Fast chips are the new way. League was a great way to mingle with the masses, but people seem to be just too dang busy anymore to set aside 1hr a week to compete on a 4 vs 4 team level. I'll have to say it was fun while it lasted though. MAY TEAM LEAGUE REST IN PEACE | |
