CFC server is dead in the water without web access

The last 3 hrs i have been working with the server company on restoring access to the site and they tell me that someone has planted a virus on the server and has disabled access to the server, Also the server company do not have access, they are suggesting a OS reload, If they do the OS reload that will wipe out the whole site and will have to be rebuilt, I do have a backup of the files but as for how to get poker to work is another story as there is no EXE file to reinstall poker, If this is the case i will have to hire DB to help to fix the poker and tie everything back together.

this is the latest on whats happened and ill know more when the server company tells me.

the virus that was planted was in the last 48 hrs and apparently was planned when installed, now who done it they cannot tell me at this time but if we do get access without a reinstall then ill have the IP of who and if it is one of our members I will press charges if im able.

It pisses me off to no end to find out someone has deliberately sabotaging the site.

After several failed attempts we are getting a new OS and we will have to reload the site, we will be down a few days, As soon as i know more i will update everyone here in this Thread only.

It has also been told to me from the server company that after the OS reload that it will be wise to upgrade to a new server so we have dedicated support for issues like this, so i will call sales tomorrow on the cost of a new server, so if people are really serious about keeping the site online i will need all the help i can get to raise the money for the new server...

I truly hope that we can keep the site online but ill need everyones help to do this..

Geez, thanks for the info Wes. It seems like there's no end to the BS that some people add to our lives. Only a sick individual would get a kick out of sabotaging our site.

if mufasa finds out who did this through an ip number. this is a federal offense and
could get up to a good twenty years..
lets hope muff finds out who the culprit was..

WOW the gall of some people, I am sad this has happened but relieved to find out that it isn't my connection, been trying since last night to get on and nothing. It is a sad day when we can't play our favorite poker because of some low life jerk out there deliberately sabotaging the site.  

I'm pretty sure the same name popped into my head DOS.

Ill certainly do all I can ,,,,,,,to help with keeping our site together

I just clicked on site something weird came up maybe there working on the sever but I didn't open it in fear might be another virus

This pudding happens everyday around the world....its probably a kid or kids with to much free time who hacked the site and use this small site for a test before they hack a bigger one...the 2 websites i have has been hacked like this in the past i was just happy we had backup servers with the programs to connect fast

Thanks Muf... I will help with the costs. Even though I don't play much anymore, it's nice to be able to play with old friends from time to time.

and to Lovebug... don't think that "a good twenty years" exists in a federal penitentiary.

You can't extradite for this from India, but if it was a relation you can get them if they are in the US or Canada.

I have good news OS is now reinstalled we are AKA Me and my son in the process of getting the site reloaded once they reconnect the old drive to the server for the files to be recovered. Also the good news is i got a quote for a new 64 bit server and its 50$ cheaper than what we have now if we have a successful redo of the current server than the new server will be a good investment and much needed upgrade with max support.

PS the files are intact on the old hard drive from what i was told so the logs are there to be reviewed to find out the IP address of who planted the virus by hacking the site, Once the proof is found i will find out our options for prosecution. I have lost sleep over this and lost alot of time trying to get this sorted.

I for one dont want to see this site disappear, God Bless and thank you for your understanding and support.
