- Sharron per your example voting.
2 chiefs from each team vote
2 NO votes for Warriorz. 2 yes for Bazinga, 2 yes for Rush, 2 Yes for Evil.
Majority vote rules and passes Team play for voting game. My point exactly....but was it a majority of the members?

- There are a few chiefs on FC, as Dos has stated, who "actively lead" their teams, but also those who do not. It seems that most of the drama stems from the players on the teams of the chiefs who do not. In my opinion, it is the individual chiefs who need to take a more pro-active approach to maintaining peace & harmony amongst all of the players. If this requires that the chiefs penalize their own players for repeated infractions, then that's how it should be. Look at it like a business... you have the owner (Mufasa) and he has his vice presidents (team chiefs). It is the responsibility of the VP.s (chiefs) to ensure that the employees comply with company policies and to maintain a positive working environment. If there are problems, then the VP's (chiefs) deal with it in a manner in which they see fit to correct those problems. The only time that the owner should be brought in to resolve a problem is if, and when the VP's have done their jobs and the problem still persists. There are many ways that a chief can attempt to maintain order, from a warning for a first infraction, all the way to recommending that the owner ban (fire) the individual for repeatedly ignoring the reprimands of his/her chief. We all come to FatCat for recreation... a break from the real world. Lately, it has not been a very pleasant place to be. I beseech each & every one of the Team Chiefs on this site to step up and take control of their respective teams, or step down & let someone who has the desire to stop all of this bickering take the lead.
Very well said toto...the chiefs are ultimately responsible for the behavior of the team members and should be disciplining accordingly if needed. Everyone can have an issue with another player, it's how we conduct ourselves that matters.

So Coach...this sort of voting is considered SMD (single member district--or first past the post)---can be considered undemocratic in the final outcome ...as the majority of votes COULD be eliminated... for example (using the current proposal) Should games be Teamplay or No Teamplay hypothetically results could be as follows: [/color]
No Teamplay Teamplay Warriorz 16 4 Bazinga 9 10 Royal Rush 9 11 EvilKizz 6 8 |
which means that a vote of Teamplay would be taken back to TLU to vote on......but if you notice the majority of individuals voted for non teamplay----and hence you have discarded all those votes
Would it not be simpler and fairer to have a poll vote on both forums to be voted on by all members....sure it may have to have several poll votes with different questions and a simple yes/no option for each i.e
Mufasa is the one who originally requested the TLU be set up for the express reason of bringing him solutions to decide upon.. for the reason that he did not wish to set up polls and have everyone decide.. The Reps from the TLU would take the subject back to their respective teams to discuss it internally and have a vote within the team.... whatever the majority of the team voted is how the reps are supposed to vote back in the TLU. Yes its possible but unlikely the majority of members could want the opposite of the outcome.... however the vote was by teams... and most within the team would usually vote the same way on most subjects . for example : teamplay or no teamplay... it would be the individuals or the small teams where teamplay does not really help them that could sway that vote to their favour..hence the thought behind larger teams having 2 votes and the smaller teams 1 vote to keep things on an even keel with what the majority wanted within the teams and therefore the members. If mufasa wants to set polls and have the individual members vote that is his prerogative I just know in the past he wanted the teams to work it out amongst themselves, to hopefully have a more harmonious site and there was less infighting back then , whether it was from the TLU having these discussions or not I dont know but there was more camaraderie between the teams and less of the posts and table fights regarding cheating etc... .... ( There was never one fight within the TLU discussions regarding rule changes... game times etc )

Everyone can have an issue with another player, it's how we conduct ourselves that matters. Well said Toto & Ky. Bottom line is that discipline for violations should come from the chief before it becomes a site wide issue with other players registering their complaints. It is not beyond the power, or responsibility, of a chief to do so. I have, like other chiefs, done so when needed to maintain the integrity of the team and the site as well.
