My Absence

Hey E1
A few may have noticed absence from FC... I took on a project at work that has took ALL of my spare time and most of my family time for ten months or so...I LOVE my field of work and I am very proud of my crew for what we endured during the long 10 and 12 hr days of scorching summer heat here in Texas...
We have topped out a 6 story hospital and office building in record time for amount of work done and we were asked by owner to install PINK Lights in Recognition of BREAST CANCER AWARENESS during the month of October... HERE are a few pics of the building as the Texas sun set one Sunday evening a few weeks ago...I am very proud to pass these on to some wonderful people who will appreciate them ... SO Hope you enjoy and Take a moment to remember those this deadly disease has affected...

awesome work BD ! everyone go get your mamo , my sister was just diagnosed with breast cancer. she had lump removed 2 weeks ago. has gone thru radiation and starts chemo on the 25th. they caught it early but she has long road ahead of her. please keep her in your prayers ! thank you for the pics BD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great to have you back with us, have asked barb about you several times! hugssssssssss my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those mammograms go for the MEN also
MY dad had breast cancer and had to have Left breast removed.
I had 2 large egg size areas in my right breast total of 5cms.
Luckily, it was only fluid filled and removed thru needle aspiration.
I am fine now. No further.
I always use that area for my cell phone, could have been the culprit.
I read that could happen.
NO MORE putting cell phones in my "extra pockets".

Great pics, except for the fact that they remind me of my working days, as I would be the poor guy who had to climb the tower crane each day to get to my work station. LOL Don't miss that one little bit.

these are Morrow cranes and these 2 are 160' and 200' and yes you had an awesome job except for the climb every morning...my dad owns a truck that delivers these to the sites all over texas and not only did I climb them for the light change but also delivered them to the job one Saturday to help the old man out ... he is 76 yrs old but just cant get in and out of the truck like he used to... so this job with him and my 2 sons and myself have had 3 generations of my family work on it very proud of that...and the only man on job that can say that also so I feel compelled to be the one to look after all 3 of them ... anyway long haul up for you then all day in the cab 6'x6' hats off to your career

That job climbing up the tower crane was the easy part I thought. I seen a lot of operators make some big lifts and a lot of pressure in hope ev1 stays clear and keeps all fingers n toes.
I done Union boilermaker work for 30 years and got to run a few jobs and the operator would let me make a lift. Back in The good old days. It's no easy task as a operator, rigging,welding,cuff ting and burning. Construction life is a tough life.
This thread and pics reminded me of some good ole days
